The present study was conducted in Raichur and Manvi taluks of Raichur district during 2012-13 with 120 respondents. The ex post facto research design was used for the study. The data were collected using structured and pre tested interview schedule. The results of the study indicated that, majority of the respondents possessed full knowledge with respect to practices like recommended variety, seed rate, micro nutrients, manual weeding and time of harvesting and partial knowledge in practices like seed treatment, age of seedlings at transplanting, organic manure, application of chemical fertilizers, irrigation management and pest and disease management. Majority of them fully adopted the practices like recommended variety, seed rate, micro nutrients, time of harvesting and chemical weed control. Majority of the respondents were having full knowledge regarding simple practices and have adopted the same. Some of the practices like number of seedlings per hill, application of chemical fertilizers, recommended dose of organic manure, manual weeding, chemical weed control, management of pests and diseases were also partially adopted by majority of the respondents. Keywords

Background: Health workers have been increasingly recognized as the most important inputs in a health system. The World Health Report 2000 notes "performance (quality and efficiency) of a health system depends ultimately on the knowledge, skills and motivation of the people responsible for delivering services". Recognizing the importance of Health Workers (Female) for the delivery of health care delivery, Government of India decided to appoint a second HW (F) in every subcenter under NRHM, which was launched in India in 2006. The present study was undertaken to assess if the performance of subcenters improved after introduction of a second health worker.
Method: The present study was conducted in twenty subcenters from seven PHCs in Wardha from March 2010 to April 2010 using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
Results: The findings of the in-depth interviews showed that there is an improvement in field visits and reporting of vital events especially in subcenters with more population The improvement was also observed in pregnancy registration, institutional deliveries and subcenter deliveries. The improvement in subcenter functioning, both in terms of quality&quantity were not as expected after doubling of manpower at subcenter.
Conclusion: Our assessment suggested there ia a improvement in subcenter performance with appointment of a second Health Worker (Female).

Aim: To find the effectiveness of low level laser therapy versus ultrasound therapy with plantar fascia stretching in subjects with plantar fasciitis.
Materials and Method: Non equivalent quasi experimental study design was used in this study. Total of 30 subjects with plantar fasciitis were selected using non probability convenience sampling technique. 30 Subjects was divided into two groups by lot system. Group A received low level laser therapy and Group B received ultrasound therapy and for both the group plantar fascia stretching was given. The outcome measures are FAAM (foot ankle ability measure) and NPRS (numerical pain rating scale). Data collected and tabulated was statistically analysed.
Result: Statistical analysis of post-test, foot and ankle ability measure questionnaire (FAAM) and NPRS (numerical pain rating scale) revealed that there is statistically significant difference seen between Group A and Group B.
Conclusion: From the result, it has been concluded that low level laser therapy with plantar fascia stretching (Group A) is more effective than ultrasound therapy with plantar fascia stretching (Group B) in decreasing pain and improving the quality of life in subjects with plantar fasciitis.
